In the 21st century, we’re seeing an explosion of what should be called Lifestyle diseases.

For centuries disease was caused by pathogens such as the plague and flu.  Now days disease is caused by the way we live and eat!

Some of these environmental toxin-related diseases are cancer, auto-immune dysfunction, possibly autism, Alzheimer’s, nerve disorders, etc.  Others which  are probably inflammatory diseases  such as depression, learning disabilities and fatigue are also toxin related. It can become relatively easy to overwhelm your body’s ability to remove many of these toxins when there are so many in the environment.

Symptoms of heave metal exposure, such as lead or mercury include:

  1. Fatigue
  2. Feelings of stress, and being overwhelmed by information
  3.  Depression
  4. Aching joints
  5. Reproductive Issues
  6. Impaired blood sugar regulation

Mercury is also a dangerous toxin  that can damage your central nervous system and kidneys .  It is important to minimize your exposure as well as detoxify your body.

 Chlorella  To The Rescue

The detoxification of  poisoning substances  in the body is one of the important differences between chlorella and other “green” wholefoods. The detoxification of harmful materials also means stimulation of the liver functions. This detoxification of heavy metals and other chemical toxins in the blood can take 3 to 6 months to build up enough effect to begin this process depending on how much chlorella a person is taking. Chlorella is a food. As such, it is almost impossible to take too much chlorella.

There are always some people who are sensitive to one food or another.  WebMd has this to say about chlorella. The most common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, gas (flatulence), green discoloration of the stools, and stomach cramping, especially in the first week of use.  Chlorella has been documented as having caused serious allergic reactions, including asthma and other dangerous breathing problems; though this is not common. Chlorella can cause skin to become extra sensitive to the sun. Wear sunblock outside, especially if you are light-skinned.  Ideally you should take this with the recommendations and supervision of a Naturopathic or other Holistic physician.
